Preparation

Prepare the peppers: remove the seeds and white membranes, then cut off the tops. Lightly brush the outside of the peppers with olive oil.

Prepare the filling: Sauté the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add the cooked rice, marinara sauce, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Stuff the peppers: Using a spoon, carefully fill each pepper with the filling. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese.

Hot air frying: Place stuffed peppers upright in the basket of a hot air fryer.

Bake at 180°C (360°F) for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the peppers are soft.

Set aside for a few minutes before serving, either on its own or as an addition to a salad.

Warning: the peppers are spicy! Tips

To make the peppers more tender, cook them in hot air for 3–4 minutes before stuffing.

You can replace the rice with quinoa or cauliflower rice.

For a spicier flavor, add red chili pepper flakes.
